Amanda Atkinson: Facility and Marketing Manager
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Amanda Atkinson has called Kelowna home for most of her life. With over 11 years of experience in seniors housing, her expertise covers all areas - housing and care, assisted living and residential community care. Amanda's prior experience in management of seniors independent living, partnered with her understanding of the community, and her passion to foster a comfortable environment for each and every resident makes her a great asset to the Highlands.
It is a pleasure to have Amanda's knowledge, experience and enthusiasm as part of our team. Amanda is passionate about fostering healthy relationships, and helping seniors and their families, and welcomes you to visit her at the Highlands to learn more about us.
Lisa Kenzie: Administrative Assistant and Activities Coordinator
Originally from Ontario, Kelowna has been Lisa's home for more than 40 years and she has chosen to reside in the lovely Glenmore community for most of that time. Lisa has been an important part of The Highlands team for over 11 years, with a well-rounded experience in different areas of the residence, giving her valuable insight into the day-to-day operations of the facility and the needs of our residents. Lisa took on the role of Activities Coordinator and Administrative Assistant in Summer 2014 and works closely with our residents to create a home-like environment while providing meaningful activities that are fun, cultural and educational.
Tony Heald: Head Cook
Tony is the cook at the Highlands. He has been cooking for restaurants, resorts and retirement communities for 25 years. He is very excited to bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to the table every day. Tony’s goal is to provide home style meals with quality ingredients. He endeavors to use fresh, local ingredients when whenever possible, especially the wonderful Okanagan fruits and vegetables grown right here, in our own backyard. Healthy choices of ingredients and use of flavors provide meals of comfort, as well as a variety of choice with some new tasty adventures.
